Along with developmental stage based levels, NROC Exploring embeds:

OODA Framework--Observe, Orient, Decide, Act--youth approach outdoor goals with a clear decision-making style.

Active Challenge--attempt a task, operate under real conditions, and either succeed or encounter the specific location of failure, discovering the edge of your current capability (where growth can occur).

Conservation Through Use--CTU teaches that local natural spaces are more eagerly preserved and appreciated by those given opportunities to develop a good rapport with them, via frequent visits and healthy outdoor hobbies—such as CAMPING, hobbies that bring us near the flora, fauna, and natural history of our unique region.
